Happy Anniversary

Mark and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary on Monday. I have been planning and saving all year for his gift. On the day of our wedding, Mark joked that the only other place he would have wanted to get married, other than our church, was Fenway Park. I knew right then what I was going to do for our first anniversary!!! It took lots of planning and help from friends, but last Thursday, I surprised Mark with tickets to see the Red Sox. He cried. I tried to film it on my camera, but the battery was dead from Mexico. He was so excited, but so rushed to get things packed!! We flew out the next morning and were in Boston in time for the Fourth of July Spectacular with the Boston Pops. We went to the Esplanade to watch the fireworks show, but it was crazy. We ended up going back to the room. To our surprise, we were able to watch the fireworks show from our hotel room.
The next day we did the tourist thing. We walked all over Boston and crammed a lot into one day! Sunday, we spent the day with Mark's family. His grandfather, aunts, uncles, and cousins all live in Salem, and were so sweet to have us over for the day. Thanks again Mike for driving us all over Boston, and Cathy and Pips for opening your home and feeding us so well. It was a great visit, and I'm so glad to have finally met the rest of the Mazurkiewicz crew. On Monday we took a tour of Fenway and stopped at the Yawkey Way store for souveniers. The game started at 7:05, and I have to say, for someone who claimed to not like baseball, I had a great time. Our seats were awesome, and I was surprised how fast the time flew. I was sad to see the game end, but at least the RED SOX WON!!!!! Mark had a great time and that's all that mattered.
Without sounding too corny, this past year has been the best year of my life. I married such a wonderful man. I could go on and on and "goob" everyone out, but I have to say that with each day that passes, I love him more and more. There's noone I'd rather go through this life with than Mark. I'll try and post pictures from our trip tomorrow. If you know Mark, you know we have a hundred to put on the computer!!! I also added two songs to our blog. The first song is the one that Papelbon walks out to, to "close" the game. The crowd goes nuts! You might recognize it from the movie The Departed. The other, which is actually played by the same band, is the "unofficial" song of the Red Sox Nation! Their called the Dropkick Murphys and they are all from Boston.
