Home

We are home! Thank you all so much for your prayers! We felt them and are so grateful for them! I apologize if you sent a text or message and I didn't respond. It was crazy, and I was a nervous wreck! We are exhausted, so we're already in our pj's just hanging out. My mom stayed with Harper last night so we could be with Henry, and she stayed this afternoon so I could get some sleep! If I don't say this enough, I have the best mom in the world! Don't even try to argue with me about that, I'll win! Joke :)

Still not 100% sure what caused Henry to go into respiratory distress. It could be a reaction to the immunization shots, or the fact that the pulmonologist changed his medication last week, or it could possibly be something viral. All we know is that he is better and we are grateful. We're just going to really watch him to make sure he doesn't have another episode. I was honestly joking about making people wear masks in our home. Although, I'm not going to lie, I loved feeling such support from all the comments I got on FB about wearing them! I guess us mommies have to band together, huh! The truth is, Mark and I are taking every precaution we can with H&H, but at some point, we have to just live our lives and place our trust in God! I pray daily that God will give me wisdom as to where I should and should not go, and who I should and should not be around. I have been blessed with some pretty terrific friends who love me enough to cancel plans or call me and tell me not to go somewhere because they are sick or know someone I might be around is sick. I'm really grateful for that! Not that I get out that much! Ha! I'm just saying! Mark and I are constantly worried that WE might be the ones to bring something home to the twins. We are really trying to give all of those worries and fears to God. I'm praying that this will be the last time we have to spend a night in the hospital, but if it's not, I know that God will get us through it! I continue to pray, not only for my babies, but for all the sweet NICU babies and parents who are trying their best to stay infection and virus free. Thank you again for your prayers! God bless!

P.S. Our pictures of the twins are in and they are so sweet!

Just a little set back...

Henry has been admitted to Magnolia Hospital. He had his shots Monday and seemed to be doing great, but yesterday afternoon he just quit eating. I wanted to wait until lunch today and see what our home health nurse thought. When he got to our house he said he wanted me to take him to Dr. Fowler because his breathing seemed to be more labored than usual. I immediately took him in and Dr. Fowler felt like he needed to be admitted to the hospital for tests and observation, with the possibility of having to be transferred to LeBonheur. His O2 sats were a little lower than we would like, so he has been placed on oxygen, but the plan is to try and wean him off tonight. He was dehydrated, so he has iv fluids to help keep him hydrated. Based on the tests this afternoon, we are thinking he might possibly have a viral infection. His xrays look good, and his blood gases were perfect, so we are hoping to get discharged tomorrow. Mark and I both have decided that we'll be cleaning our entire house with bleach this weekend, and may be asking every one who enters our home to wear a mask! (I'm joking about the mask!) Mark says he's not!
Please keep our little man in your prayers. I continue to pray that Henry and Harper will be able to avoid catching a cold, flu, viruses, and especially rsv in the months ahead. We are also praising God for blessing us with such a wonderful pediatrician and such a caring staff here at Magnolia! I know we are in great hands!

Oh, how we've grown!

It has been brought to my attention that our family would like to see more pictures of H&H.  I'm really slacking these days with updating the blog.  Mark and I keep joking that we can't imagine what in the world could be keeping us busy these days! Ha!  Truth is, we are really having a lot of fun with these two sweet peas.  Their little personalities are really starting to develop and it's so much fun to watch.  But, oh my gosh are we tired!  When the twins ever slow down long enough to nap or sleep, you can bet that we are napping and sleeping as well.

Henry's little surgical procedure that he had a few weeks ago went great.  In fact, he didn't even act like it bothered him at all!  He's truly the toughest little guy I've ever seen, and he's growing by leaps and bounds.  He now weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces!!  He loves his mommy.  We have been to Memphis twice this week for more doctor visits.  I am so proud to say that we were able to see a new pulmonologist.  We finally feel like we have a game plan as far as his health goes.  It seems that his lungs have slightly improved since he left the NICU.  Praise be to God!  We were also able to cut the dosage of his medicine in half.  However, we may have to go back to the full dose because Mark and I both feel like he has not been himself since we changed it.  I am also thrilled to say that we will not have to go back to Memphis for an entire month.  That may not seem very long to some, but to us, that seems like an eternity, and we'll take it!

Harper girl is just the sweetest, easiest baby ever.  I'm not sure when our little sassy pants mellowed out, but she is honestly so easy.  She rarely cries, and sleeps like, well, not a baby, ha, thats for sure.  She just adores Henry and her daddy.  It's so cute, when Henry is crying or having a fit, Harper gets this little look on her face like she wants to say, "Look at me!! I'm not crying!!"  It's precious and mischievous all at the same time.  She's also a little less serious these days.  She's starting to smile more and more.  When she smiles it's almost like she gets teased.  I'm just crazy about this sweet girl.  She now weighs 10 pounds!!!  She had her 4 month shots last week and did great.

I am trying to figure out how to upload videos on this blog.  We have some really cute ones of the twins that I'm dying to share.  Until then, here are some pictures from the past few weeks.

We ask that you keep sweet Henry in your prayers this coming week.  We start his 4 month shots on Monday.  I say start, because our pediatrician and our NICU doctors have come up with a plan to stretch out these shots over the next three weeks.  They, and we, are hoping that by doing this, he won't react as poorly to this round as he did the last.  His 2 month shots just about killed him.  Literally.  So, needless to say, I am very nervous about the next few weeks ahead.

Also, for all of you wonderful prayer warriors.  My sweet family has been so blessed and humbled by so many of you, and I can't begin to thank you enough.  That said, I would like to humbly as for your prayers for a family that I don't even know.  The only thing I know about this family is that they are from my hometown, and they have a faith in God that is truly inspiring.  This week on Facebook, I read about the Scott family and their precious little blonde haired baby girl named Tessa.  I do not know this little girl, but for some reason her picture just broke my heart.  I guess, in a way, I envisioned my sweet Harper each time I looked at her face.  Tessa went to be with Jesus this week.  Her family had to watch as the doctors turned off the machines that kept her alive.  I'm just asking that you please keep the Scott family in your prayers.  I can't possibly know what losing a child feels like.  I can only imagine, and each time I do, my heart aches.  Please pray for peace and comfort for this precious family.

Happy Labor Day

I am so very happy to report that Henry does NOT have pulmonary hypertension. Well, I should say he doesn't have it right now. The doctor would like for us to continue coming for EKG's just to keep a close watch on him in case he begins to develop it. This week we also had his blood gases checked, and I am so happy to say that his CO2 level was NORMAL!! What an answer to prayer!! Bless his heart, he's had a rough week, so we are taking this holiday weekend and relaxing! Lots of cuddle time for these two babies! My goal this weekend, if I don't do another thing, is to get sweet Harper on video smiling, and a video of Henry sneezing. It's the cutest thing in the world!

I realized today that this Labor Day weekend is the very first holiday that we get to spend as a family of four! I'm thanking God for His many blessings!! We have another rough week ahead as Henry is having a VERY MINOR surgical procedure on Wednesday! It's extremely routine, but I am still nervous! I will do a more detailed update next week on how that goes! Thank you all for your prayers! We continue to be humbled and blessed by the love being shown to our family! We are extremely grateful! Happy Labor Day!

Starting our Friday night with a little take out! :) Yummy!

Catching up on some movies! Watching movies these days is a little different! Lots of pauses to say the least!
