Kids Say the Darndest Things...

Mark and I are always cracking up over the things the kids are saying these days, or the way they actually say them.  I thought I would take a moment and document some things that we hear on a daily basis.

Harper:
-Yesh- for yes (she sounds so sophisticated when she says it too!  cracks us up!)
-Shishy for Sissy
-No, I do it! (We hear this ALL the time!)
-Henwy= Henry
-Tinkle tinkle little scar (Sung in the sweetest little voice you've ever heard!)
-Dancsh=Dance
-Mushic= Music
-Momma, yook!
-Bye bye, see you in a min-it
-Need a pashi wight now! 
-Need some miulk wight now!= Need some milk right now!
-"Oh my sew!"  Singing 10,000 Reasons
-Bebe doll
-Gan-gandmommy (What she calls my mom, Grandmommy.)
-Gobah= Grover (our dog)


Henry:
-Hemmy (Referring to himself in the third person)
-No, Hemmy's (He's a little territorial!)
-I yove you!
-Aahpah= Harper
-Uses f for the "tr" sound!  (So you can imagine how I cringe EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. he says truck!  Especially dump truck!  I've been praying he will refrain from shouting this out while we're at church!)
-Do- nuts = Dough nuts
-Wock for a minute= Rock for a minute (He begs to do this every night so he can stay up later!)
-Sue-man = Super Man
-Mista  Man= any one that Henry sees and doesn't know.
-Miss Taweesa (Teresa) What he calls his day-school teacher.
-TB on= TV on
-I wanna hoad you!
-Grandy= Grandaddy
-Goop hug= group hug (We do group hugs at our house!)
-Honey bicket= Honey biscuit
-Damana= banana
-Oopy=oopsie

We have had a super busy summer thus far, but I'm sitting down tonight and playing catch up once more! ;) 

Playing Catch Up...

May was a super busy month for us!  While the twins celebrated their second birthday in May, we also had the end of the school year (mother's day out) and Memorial Day to celebrate as well.  

They love their little chairs.  This is our snack spot!

Last day of day school!  The first day I left them back in August, we all three cried!  On the last day, Harper slammed the classroom door on me and I heard her yell, "Bye Momma!"  To say they LOVE school is an understatement.  We had some pretty terrific teachers.  If you want to see just how fast two babies can grow in just 9 months, check out the post of when we first started day school back in August!  Time sure is flying by!

We went to the Zoo for the first time!

I'm thinking they were a little too young to really appreciate all the zoo had to offer.  They were most impressed with the ducks, and that was about it!  We still had a blast!

We got very close to the farm animals and they loved it!

And of coarse, no trip to midtown is complete without stopping by Cafe Eclectic for lunch!  The month of May sure was fun, and so far, June is shaping up to be a pretty fun month too!

"I'm Two!"

     "I'm two!"  This is the phrase Henry and Harper yell when I ask them how old they are now.  I'm still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around the fact that my "babies" are now full fledged toddlers.  I have done a horrible job with documenting their second year of life here on the blog.  I'm hoping to be better.
     Mark and I decided that this year we would have a small family birthday party here at our house.  Their birthday falls on Mother's Day weekend, so it was very nice for us to have both of our moms here to celebrate.  We are so grateful that God has brought Henry and Harper so far in the last two years.  One of my favorite books that I read to the babies is On the Night You Were Born.  A NICU mentor gave that book to me while we were at LeBonheur.  I read it to them the night before their birthday and just cried thinking about the night they were actually born. (If you don't own that book, go buy it! Now!  It's so sweet!)  I am so grateful to say that we have perfectly healthy two year olds who are hitting every milestone and growing and just being normal two year olds.  To God be the glory!!

 The morning before their birthday we went to Lloyd's Cafe and had pancakes.  Henry and Harper love using the coffee creamers as little cups for their juice.  Henry cracks me up with his wild hair.  

Stocking up for the fun weekend ahead.  I'm ashamed to admit this, but this was only the second or third time I've ever taken them to the grocery store.  (Before you judge me, you are welcome to tag along and see how much "fun" it is!) ;)

 The sweet birthday cakes Sissy made for the kiddos.  I'm so thankful to have a pastry chef for a sister!

Pizza is their favorite food by far!  So pizza is what we had for their birthday lunch!

Harper loved the attention when we all sang Happy Birthday.  She and Henry have been singing the happy birthday song almost every day since.

Henry loves Ty and Quinn.  We hadn't seen them since their first birthday party, so it was so fun to hang out with them.  They've grown a lot, too!

Mark and I grilled out for our moms for Mother's Day.  My sister and I are very blessed with a really awesome mom.  I don't tell her enough how grateful I am for her. 

And I am so grateful that these two call me momma.  

The Monday after their birthday we had a 2 year wellness visit.  I took this picture and had to post.  If you can't tell, Harper is the boss!   She tells Henry every move to make and Henry adores her.
